Bust The Filibuster Business Card

The filibuster is a long-standing U.S. Senate procedure that essentially allows a minority of senators to block voting on legislation favored by the majority. Until recently, it was rarely used and then primarily to block civil rights legislation. In recent years, the filibuster has become a tool to stymie progress of the incumbent administration on a wide variety of congressional bills. It is time to substantially limit or eliminate the filibuster rule in order to support voting rights, infrastructure improvements, and support for families, the elderly and child care, among other important federal government legislation. It’s time to bust the filibuster and restore rule by majority vote in the Senate.
