Caged. Anxiety, frustration, acrylic art Tapestry Poster

This painting didn't end up where it began. I stopped painting to let the layers dry, and days later, couldn't bring myself to add to it. As the days went by, and the news filled my inbox, the airways, and too often my thoughts, I found myself staring at this often, with various emotions. Dread at times, and anxiety. It's creepy and feels Halloween-y, but sometimes I see a circus. Orwell's Animal Farm came to mind as well. I don't make art to be political, but I still think the emotions this evokes, at least for me, are timely. I may feel different in a year, or six or eight, and of course you may or may not see what I see. That's the great thing about art, right? It hits different for all of us. The original is an 8x10, acrylic on canvas, painted in July of 2025. It may not ever be for sale. Or maybe it will, who knows? In the meantime, enjoy the reproduction.
