Canada Goose In Water With Reflection Card

This greeting card features a photo of a Canada goose (Branta canadensis) with its reflection in the water. Canadian geese are native to the arctic and temperate regions of North America, although its migration occasionally reaches Europe. It is primarily herbivorous, eating many green vegetables and grains, although they are also known to eat small insects and fish. They are often found on or close to fresh water. During the second year of their lives they will find a mate. They are monogamous and most couples will stay together most of their lives. Females will lay 2-9 eggs with the average being 5. Both parents will protect the nest while the eggs are incubating, although the female will stay on the nest more than the male. The babies, called goslings, hatch within 24-28 days and are immediately capable of walking, swimming and finding their own food.
