My grandmother used to make jam and jelly from the fruit she grew in her very small backyard in the city. Each jar was topped off with parafin and then sealed. My boys and I have resurrected this tradition recently...and have learned to can pickes, relish and other garden produce. It's not all that hard to do. Give it a try.
