Here is a postcard featuring Mr. and Mrs. Northern Cardinal. It is autumn with glorious foliage in the background but the first snow has fallen to give us a preview of winter. He is a brilliant red colour. She is orange, gold and brown. Both have crests and orange beaks. They are truly the royalty of backyard birds with their distinctive song and lovely colours.
