Carl Holsøe - A saucer of milk, before 1935. Carl Vilhelm Holsøe (1863-1935) was a Danish painter that painted in a similiar style as Vilhelm Hammershøi. This painting shows a woman that stands in a doorway looking into a brightly lit room where a cat is drinking from a saucer of milk. In the foreground is another room, much darker, where you can se a chair and some other furniture. More in Swedish: Holsøe var mycket influerad av Vilhelm Hammershøi. I likhet med honom målade han mestadels interiörer med gamla möbler och enstaka figurer. Hans torra, delikata pensel tolkar med sällsynt målerisk finhet de blida harmonierna i lugna tysta rum.
