Louis Wain, England (1860-1939) Wain's illustrations of cats often imitated human behaviour, satirising fads and fashions of the day. Wain invented a cat style, a cat society, a whole cat world. Cat paintings classified as vintage, retro or nostalgia represent fragments of a lost past and show us how different many of these cats appear when compared to current examples of their breeds. Over the years, I have become a collector of cat prints and treasure every one for different reasons and it is this passion for cat art that has inspired my vintage cat products.
