About This Design

Catrinas Calendar

Catrinas Calendar

La Catrina, known worldwide as Mexico's grand dame of death, is one of the most iconic representations of Mexican folklore. Ever present since the precolumbian era and immortalised by Jose Guadalupe Posadas with La Calavera Catrina or Calavera Garbancera in early 1900s, this image has become symbolic with the Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. This lovely calendar display colourful and elegant Catrina depictions in painted clay so you can celebrate all year long. These Catrinas are dressed up to celebrate Mexico's vibrant, macabre fiesta: Day of the Dead.
