Charles bridge old tower & Prague castle Postcard
This postcard features the Gothic Old Town Bridge Tower at the entrance to Charles Bridge, with Prague Castle visible along the historic route beyond. Emperor Charles IV commissioned the tower with the bridge in the 14th century, and its design is associated with the workshop of Peter Parler. Conceived as both a fortified gateway and a symbolic triumphal arch, it formed part of the coronation route used by Czech kings on their way towards Prague Castle.
