Charlie the Landlord is one of the main characters from a graphic novel I'm working on. This old italian guy is based on a real life person whose story is pretty much a realisation of the American dream. I lived in one of his buildings for 20 years and he went from the really scary landlord to being the closest I ever had to a real father. The above is based on one of his stories which will be up on my blog in a few days.
