Chateau Fontainebleau Poster

Chateau Fontainebleau Poster

Château de Fontainebleau, situated in the town of Fontainebleau in the Île-de-France region of France, boasts a rich and varied history dating back to the 12th century. Originally a royal hunting lodge, it gained prominence under King Louis VII in the 12th century. However, it was during the Renaissance that the château truly flourished. King Francis I, a great patron of the arts, transformed Fontainebleau into a grand palace, inviting renowned artists like Leonardo da Vinci to contribute to its architectural and artistic splendour. The château became a favourite residence of French monarchs, with subsequent rulers such as Henry II, Catherine de' Medici, and Henry IV leaving their mark on the estate. Throughout the centuries, Fontainebleau continued to evolve, witnessing significant historical events. It served as the backdrop for the signing of the Treaty of Fontainebleau in 1814, which marked Napoleon Bonaparte's abdication and exile to the island of Elba. The château also played a role in the abdication of Napoleon III in 1870. Today, Château de Fontainebleau stands as a testament to the changing tastes and architectural styles over the centuries. Its sprawling grounds, opulent interiors, and extensive gardens attract visitors from around the world, offering a glimpse into the grandeur of France's royal history.

I originally ordered this print in a larger size but was not pleased with the clarity of it. When I contacted Zazzle, they responded really quickly and were very helpful. I was able to reorder the print in a smaller size and it was shipped to me within a couple of weeks. The print was packaged well to ensure there was no damage during transit (Eco friendly, too!), and I am really pleased with it. I am so grateful to the customer service team for the professional way they handled my order. I had this printed on matt finish card and I was really pleased with the quality. The colours were rich and the image sharp.
