In ancient times, Yule was a celebration of the winter solstice that lasted 12 days. It was known for its fantastic parties and wonderful revelry! Today, Yule simply means Christmas and tide means time. Yuletide, or Christmastide, is another way to say the season or days surrounding Christmas and/or the winter solstice. “Yuletide Blessings of Hope and Comfort” is an original illustration inspired by Victorian-style graphic design and typography. This design coordinates with the Holly Star pattern in both red and green. --> NOTE: The piece has a distressed paper background for a vintage appearance. A white or light-coloured paper choice is recommended.

These invitations are perfect for a vintage tea party at Christmas time! I remember clothes like that in the 50's and 60's, when ladies always wore hats, so the artwork depicts the era very well, with charm and a little whimsy. Everyone that has seen them so far has loved them. The only problem I had with the script was the line that says "regrets only", as I need people to rsvp if they're coming, therefore, I now have to find a way to blot this out. I think it could have been done with the editing feature before ordering, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. The size of the cards are perfect as well...not too small or too big. The colors are nice, but so matte that I think a little gloss would have added dimension, and that may have been an option, but I'm not sure. They are beautiful the way they are, with sturdy paper that won't bend easily...same with the envelopes...good quality. I am very pleased. I will buy from this company, and this artist, again.
