Christmas Card - Light of the World by William Holman Huntt This important Pre-Raphaelite painting features Jesus Christ preparing to knock on a door which looks like it hasn't been opened in a very long time. The artist, Wiliam Holman Hunt, explained in 1854 that he painted this doorway with no outside handle, so that it can only be opened from the inside. This painting illustrates Revelation 3:20: "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me".
