Christmas Madonna Child Angels Della Robbia Wreath Tree Decoration Card

This is a flat reproduction of the tondo relief in glazed terracotta, "Madonna and Child", created by the workshop of Andrea and Giovanni della Robbia, circa 1500. Virgin Mary sustains baby Jesus upright ; she wears a veil, her head is slanted, so that their faces touch each other., like in the orthodox icons. On their left and right there are two cherubs. The scene is surrounded by a round frame of cherubs, surrounded on its turn by a larger frame with a garland of fruits (quinces, pears, lemons, grapes), pine cones, and small blue and yellow flowers. Characters are white, the background is blue, the leaves are green, the fruits are yellow (except the grapes). On the back, there is a message, white on blue, in an elegant calligraphy, surrounded by the same fruit garland. The work is in the public domain in the United States, the European Union and all countries with a copyright term of life of the author plus 100 years or less.
