Circus Procession Elephant Antique Art Postcard

Circus Procession Elephant Antique Art Postcard

Victorian Circus - Elephants and Clowns. Antique image of a circus - Going to the circus used to be the big night out in the olden days. The circus was fun for the family. This circus image is a vintage image of an old-time circus procession, when the performers would walk around the circus ring and wave at the audience. The Circus Procession starts out with an elephant riding a bicycle, and dressed like a child. Quite a feat! Then comes the clowns and men with big hats and old-time flags. Bringing up the rear of the circus procession is another big elephant, walking on two legs holding his Japanese fan, a hat, cane, and dressed like a proper Victorian gentleman. The illustration is in full colour, with big read heading that says, The Circus Procession. Red, blue, orange and yellow are the prominent colours in the illustration. About the Circus Procession A circus procession winds through the main streest of towns, before the big top is set up that gathers crowds of circus goers. The illustration, The Circus Procession, was the cover of an antique children's book printed in 1888 by McLoughlin Brothers of New York.

Such a huge range of different frogs available, which made my choices very difficult and now the reason I have a whole draw full of cards and postcards! Much better quality than you can buy in the shops and they are exactly on the subject I love and adore too.
