Colourized photo from 1941, March 5 Original title: Raleigh Hotel Photographer: Gottscho-Schleisner Location: 1775 Collins Ave, Miami, FL The Raleigh Hotel is located in the South Beach section of Miami Beach. It was built in 1940 in an Art Deco style. Over they years this hotel has been sold and resold to many people. In 2015, it was decided to renovate the building, however it was closed in 2017 due damage from Hurricane Irma, just prior to completing the renovation. The hotel is still in operation, the pool is still there. However they made it bigger by filling water up to the farthest edge where the stairs are, which honestly makes more sense. The diving board is not in use, instead its a water feature. The parking lot is now a street.
