Classic Arizona Powerlines Photo Print
An mid-20th century 69,000 volt (69kV) transmission line pole design. These were once very common throughout the Phoenix, AZ region as well as throughout the USA until after the late 1970's-80's. This design goes back to the 1914-15 transmission line that ran parallel along a portion of the long gone Milwaukee Road railway from Montana to Washington state.
This pole was part of the San Carlos Irrigation Project (SCIP) electric system.
Update: As of 2020, these poles have sadly been replaced by modern composite "line post" constructions.
