The karakasa-obake, also known as the kasa-obake or karakasa-kozo, may not have a major historical role in folklore, but has nevertheless become one of the most famous and iconic yokai monsters of Japan! This classic creature is an otherwise normal paper umbrella that has come to life after one hundred years! With one single eye and a long protruding tongue, this funny fellow hops on its single leg, following you through the darkness only to pop out at you and lick your face! The text box says "karakasa-obake" in Japanese.

Due to the cost of this cup I thought it would be of finer quality China but it isn't. The picture of the butterfly wings is okay but not as cool as the photo because it has a white boarder around it. So it was nice enough but not as cool as its price suggested. It arrived by post quickly and in good condition so that was really good. As above. Not quite as good as the picture indicated

The mug is well made and is a decent size, though I wish they had a regular mug that was shorter and wider, like about 4" x 4.5" or so. Still, this one is nice. The design printed perfected and the colors are vivid and beautiful.
