What's less known about the drilling process is the massive amount of water used and consequently polluted beyond current treatment abilities. At this time, much of this polluted water is being dumped back into our public waterways - 10x the amount of salt in sea water, radioactive contamination and high load of dissolved particles (aka TDS). This along with underground methane and chemical migration and a host of other polluting effects concerns everyone in the areas of drilling.
