Clovis, New Mexico Postcard

Clovis is a distinctive eastern New Mexico city known for its deep prehistoric heritage, wide-open plains, and strong connection to the ancient Clovis culture. The area around Blackwater Draw is one of North America's most significant archaeological landscapes, where evidence of early human habitation was discovered alongside Ice Age animals. The city blends Southwestern character with the expansive High Plains landscape, creating a memorable setting of broad skies, warm sunlight, and earthy colours. A travel illustration can capture Clovis through an atmospheric prairie scene with subtle prehistoric inspiration, rugged grasslands, and a calm horizon.
