A marvellous image by William Blake (1757-1827), inspired by a comet he witnessed in 1811. The print was found in the artist’s estate from where lots of my stuff comes from. Her copy was on very old rag paper and seemed to be hand-painted. Maybe a rendering of an early 19th century tourist souvenir? An art student’s copy? The real thing?? (KaCHING) Looks equally marvellous on all kinds of EVERYTHING, including notebooks. Note that the image appears on both the front and back covers, in mirror image. Wanna see more old? It is cardboard and plastic /laminated when it clearly states leather. I was expecting a leather front page. .
