Common Snowtrout Notebook
It is a member of the Carp family and is native to India, Sikkim and Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. It is adapted to fast-flowing, cold-water streams of Himalayan rivers. This species can be found in mountain rivers dwelling among rocks, feeding on algae, aquatic plants and detritus. It can reach a maximum length of 60 cm (23.6 inches). It is considered a Vulnerable species.
