About This Design

Coriss - Cobalt Trading Card

Coriss - Cobalt Trading Card

The Wizard Coriss represents the element Cobalt in The Magical Elements of the Periodic Table. Coriss has a really cool power where he can magically recharge batteries to do amazing things. Just by thinking about it, he can take energy from batteries, save it up, and then use it to move things, create electricity, or make things hot. Cobalt was discovered by Swedish chemist Georg Brandt (1694-1768), making him the first recorded discoverer of a new metal. Before Brandt, people only knew about metals like gold, silver, iron, copper, lead, tin, and mercury along with the semi-metals, zinc, bismuth, antimony, and arsenic. The name “Cobalt” comes from the German word "Kobold," meaning "goblin." Miners believed these goblins caused problems because cobalt has arsenic in it, which can harm health, and the metal ores didn’t produce good metals using regular methods. Cobalt is a metal that can be magnetised, like iron and nickel. It's highly magnetic and can be used to create both soft and hard magnets. Cobalt chrome is super common in joint implants. Some even come with an ID card for security checks at metal detectors. Each card contains 2 trading cards.
