One of the reasons that I relatively easily have learned the Russian language to a high level is that I created a daily habit of studying the Russian language and I set goals. To increase your effectiveness studying the Russian language, try creating your own daily planner to keep track of your Russian language learning goals, assignments, tasks, plans and accomplishments. This daily planner's design inside will be in English... but you can practice writing in Cyrillic by keeping your planner in Russian. I've spent some time watching videos about topics such as "мой ежедневник" or "как я веду ежедневник?" or "органайзер" or "как я планирую время" for ideas and listening practice.
