Crowndale - 37 Highland Short Hills NJ Panorama1 Poster

This ca 1900 panoramic photo of the home known as "Crowndale," at 37 Highland Avenue in Short Hills, NJ, reveals that the Victorian trim that once embellished the home was already gone by about 1900. The third story balcony and the overhanging roof had been removed, in addition to the right-hand porch. The front porch was later enclosed with arched windows. The well-known and important home stands atop a knoll and overlooks the village below. NOTE: This is the archival print edition of this image.
