Crows Flying in Snow Poster

Whimsical "Crows Flying in Snow" by Ito Sozan (1884 - ?) dated in the early 1920s was published by Watanabe Shozaburo. The original print is much smaller than a normal print of its day, the being but 6 5/8 inches wide by 9 7/8 inches tall. This beautiful and somewhat fanciful print shows skilfully executed "bokashi"((ぼかし), Japanese for "shading off" or gradation shading) to the distant crows and grey sky. The wood grain is also visible in the sky and overall it is a nicely detailed carving and a striking wintertime image of crows flying in a snowstorm.
