Cuckmere Haven after the Storm Mouse Pad

After every storm, there is stillness — a moment when the land reclaims its breath and peace quietly returns. “Cuckmere Haven After the Storm” is an original oil painting by Sonia Finch, capturing the quiet beauty of the South Downs after a wild and windswept day. The river winds gently through open hills, while sheep graze untroubled, grounded in the eternal rhythm of nature. Beneath the soft sky, a sense of deep calm and balance emerges — the hush after the weather has passed. This piece is rooted in a personal story: a stormy walk through Cuckmere Haven with a dear soul sister, on a day when grief was carried on the wind and healing began to return. The rain came in torrents. The path was wild. But what remained — and what lives in this painting — is the stillness that followed. A return to balance. A soul held gently by the land. This is a one-of-a-kind original artwork — textured, layered, and painted with love. A timeless tribute to the enduring peace that follows even the fiercest storms.
