Culloden Battlefield Wall Business Card

Near the Scottish Highland city of Inverness is Culloden, made famous by the decisive battle of Culloden, the final stand for the supporters of Bonnie Prince Charlie against the English, the last of the Jacobite uprisings, the purpose of which was to restore the Catholic House of Stuart their rightful place on the British throne after they were overthrown by the Government. Some years earlier they had inserted the House of Hanover as British monarchs instead, in one serious swipe making the royal house both protestant as well as constitutional. Today, only a small part of the big battlefield is preserved as a national heritage monument, in the middle of which is a memorial cairn to honour the dead on both sides in the battle.
