Hand coloured lithographic plates by Hieronymus Hess inspired by the woodcuts of Hans Holbein and after Matthew Merian's 17th century drawings of the fresco-paintings on the cemetery wall of St. Johns church at Basel. A must-have for lovers of vintage horror, gothic and spooky skeletons. Dance of Death - Danse Macabre An artistic genre of late-mediaeval allegory on the universality of death: no matter one's station in life, the Dance of Death unites all.
