Death Dance pillow this vintage art is called " Death Dance " by Isaac Cruikshank, 1808. this is a relatively modernised version as of the 1800s Dance of Death, or Danse Macabre. Here you see Death as a skeleton approaching people of all stations and walks of life, reaffirming that Death is the great leveler/equalizer. They were produced as an artistic genre of religious works from the 1400s thru the 1800s, late mediaeval period to remind people of the fragility of their lives and how vain were the glories of earthly life.
