Disability Pride Flag Magnet

Decorate your fridge with this disability pride flag magnet as a reminder of how powerful the disability justice community can be. Each time you go to open your fridge, hopefully you'll remember that survival is resistance and that you are loved, worthy, more than deserving of your access needs being met and more. That you deserve to have disabled joy and space for your disabled pain/frustrations etc also. Your voice is important and there are many communities who value what you communicate be it with mouth words or AAC or sign language or any of the myriad of incredible languages that our community uses to express themselves. On the pride flag: They each have the disability pride flag on them, designed by Ann McGill, a disabled artist who collaborated with the community in the process. She's asked that it be used widely and freely and put it in public domain. This is the symbolism: "The Black Field: Represents our mourning for those of us (disabled people) who have suffered, lost their lives from Ableist violence, negligence, suicide and/ or eugenics. The Parallel Stripes: These represent solidarity within the Disability Community, despite our differences. The Five Colours: These colours represent the diversity within disability and our experiences (Mental Illness, Neurodiversity, Invisible and Undiagnosed Disabilities, Physical Disability, and Sensory Disabilities).
