This design features a painting by the English artist Sir Edwin Henry Landseer (1802–1873), who was renowned for his paintings of animals, particularly horses, dogs and stags. This image depicts a big white poodle dog sitting in a judge's chair, as though he is presiding over a court of dogs. There are many different canine creatures, different breeds of dog, surrounding the judge who is exerting his authority with his confident posture. It is a comedic and humourous image of animals acting like humans. The original art was painted in 1840.
