Duality Bag

This oil painting features a portrait of an imaginary blue face or mask. The green eyes are similar to a cats, but the face itself is a human one. There is a light brown or tan bowler hat on its head. The hat has a flower on the left side with dark pink petals. The left side of the face has a black swirl on the outside of the eye, dark pink lips and three black stars on the cheek. The right side of the face has a white spiral on the outside of the eye, three white stars on the cheek, light pink lips and a white moustache and goatee. The white and black background of this painting forms a circular chequerboard pattern. The whole painting represents the dual nature of all people. Everyone has a feminine and masculine side. We also have an animal side and a human side to us. The face/mask itself represents how each of us has a tendency to choose which side of ourselves to present to others. This painting is about recognising every part of our inner selves, being true to who we are and showing pride in being unique.
