Dunnottar Castle -- Clan Keith Napkin

Bold colours fill the sky as the sun sets on the ancient Dunnottar Castle, a former home of the Keith Clan in Scotland. Dunnottar Castle was a mediaeval fortress that was chosen as the hiding place of Scotland’s crown jewels when Oliver Cromwell invaded. Located in northeastern Scotland, south of Stonehaven, it the property of the Keith clan from the 14th century, and the seat of the Earl Marischal,The last Earl forfeited his titles by taking part in the Jacobite rebellion of 1715. The castle was restored in the 20th century and is now open to the public. The Keith clan is fortunate to have other associated castles/homes: Keith Marischal House, Caskieben/Keith Hall, and Fetteresso Castle. Public Domain Photo
