Bull Elk in Velvet Clock. A massive bull elk with his huge antlers still in velvet looks back over his shoulder as he puts some distance between him and I after I roused him from his bed. They are very good at using the sparse cover and little dips in the prairie and can be hard to spot when they are on their own, they usually are found in herds of just a few to hundreds of animals.
