About This Design

Edouard Manet - Lola de Valence Tile

Edouard Manet - Lola de Valence Tile

Lola de Valence, painted in 1862 in oil on canvas by French painter Édouard Manet. The painting portrays the Spanish dancer Lola Melea in the elaborate costume she wore while performing in Paris. Manet combines the formality of a full-length portrait with bold colour, dark tonal contrasts and the fascination with Spanish art and performance that strongly marked his work in the early 1860s.

My fiancé and I were happy when we received the tile. It’s Peru and was worth paying extra for expressing postage. Good quality and it is exactly like we wanted it. We are very pleased.
