Based on the well-known Christmas carol, "The 12 Days of Christmas," this whimsical image portrays the eight lovely milkmaids as a veritable menagerie of different animals, including cats, a dog, a bird, a mouse, a squirrel, a turtle, and even a lizard. The ladies are each wearing simple but colourful dresses, each in different colours, for doing their chores.
