El Greco Annunciation greeting card. Oil painting on canvas from 1598. El Greco devoted much of his career to religious themes, his Annunciation is one of the most arresting and dramatic. The angel Gabriel announces to the Virgin Mary that she has been chosen by God amongst women as a band of angels overhead plays flute, cello, harp and harpsichord. A pure white dove surrounded by yellow light burst through the clouds in the centre of the painting providing the visual focal point of the scene. The silky use of green, red, blue and black provides the painting with a lovely dreamlike quality. A great gift for fans of El Greco, the Virgin Mary, angels, and catholic art.

We downloaded several photos which was simple and produced a very attractive personalised card for our 11yr old Granddaughter.
I was concerned that the card would not arrive on time but Zazzle came up trumps and the card arrived on the day before her birthday - perfect! I didn't see the card as it went straight to our family in New Zealand. However they did send a photo and it looked excellent!
