They were not cluttered looking and were on high quality thick paper. This product exceeded our expectations! The card stock was thick and nicely textured (we ordered the standard card stock). We were impressed with the overall quality of the invitations. The design of the product was great. The colors and clarity of the print stood out beautifully against the black card stock. The invitations looked professionally done and we have received several positive comments regarding how splendidly they turned out. The pictures I took do not do justice to how brilliantly the colors stand out.
