Vintage 19th century botanical Illustration of Gaillardia blooms, very elegant, sophisticated and classy artwork. In ancient cultures such as the Native American tribes, the gaillardia flower was believed to be a symbol of strength and courage. In the language of flowers, they symbolise charm, joy, happiness, and modesty. It is the official flower of Wallonia. The school colours of Texas State University are maroon and old gold, a combination inspired by the gaillardia.
