Engraving Queen Victoria's Silver Writing Box Decorative Cushion

Queen Victoria's Silver Writing Box held the monarch's quill pens and pencils. Historic one-tone engraving plate from the book, Treasury of Ornamental Art, Illustrations of Objects of Art and Vertù, published as a museum catalogue in 1858. Artist Francis Bedford and co-author Sir John Charles Robinson illustrated and wrote the book of plates about the treasures represented in England's Museum of Ornamental Art. The fine silver and lacquered ornate writing box was unveiled at The Great Exhibition of 1851 to Her Majesty Queen Victoria—now is part of London's Marlborough House Collection of exemplary and artful manufacturing. The details about its history are explained in discrete captions on the back side.
