Ernst Haeckel- Crinoids Spiral Notebook

This notebook incorporates a full page from famed artist Ernst Haeckel's beautiful and highly-detailed work "Kunstformen der Natur," published in 1904. Plate 20 features a series of crinoid drawings, with a prominent sketch of crinoids from the Sacacrinus and Endoxocrinus genera (also known as Metacrinus and Pentacrinus, respectively). Although they look like plants, crinoids are marine animals consisting of a feathery head attached to the seafloor by a stalk. They are more colloquially known as sea lillies or feather stars. Ernst Haeckel's now public domain artwork is renowned for its meticulous detail and beauty.
