This beautifully designed map of Europe appeared in June 1962 at National Geographic along with the article "In the Crusaders Footsteps". It offers a snapshot of Europe during the Cold War and shows the borders of Germany, Poland and the Soviet Union as they existed in 1938. Due to the coloured national borders, they are particularly easy to recognise. On this map you will find geographical details such as mountains, rivers, lakes, deserts, warm and cold currents as well as countless city names, roads, highways and railway lines.
