Fall Colours at Charter Oak Park, Peoria, IL ... my 2004 photo ... one of many photos that I took to fulfil a Digital Photography class project at Illinois Central College where we were assigned to take photos similar to any famous photographer who we chose ... I chose Wallace Nutting who was famous for his hand-water-coloured Platinotype Pictures that he created and was most famous for circa 1904 (or a little earlier) until the Depression of 1929 (and a little later). He took thousands of photos, mostly of rural New England America ... of natural country settings, country roads, creeks, blossoming trees, autumn colours. He eventually hired a team of ladies to hand-water-colour his photos in a mass production with certain ladies specialising in certain areas such as sky, creek, trees, animals, and (rarely) people. My Grandma Westerfield gave me her Wallace Nuttings and ones that she got from my Great Great Aunt Ella whose mother witnessed the Battle of Gettysburg and President Abraham Lincoln giving the Gettysburg Address!
