Fall Colours Remembered Tea Towel

Simply natural! This one of a kind pattern design started when I found a near perfect biodegrading leaf floating in a bird bath. The leaf's veins were almost completely intact, forming an amazing botanical skeleton. I photographed the leaf and from there I created my own pattern tools. Next I matched that one magical leaf to the fall colours of a photograph I had captured in The Black Hills of South Dakota in the fall or 2013, on a visit home to see my father for the very last time. As a result his beautiful simple pattern holds so much more in it then just a generic design. It tells stories of nature, of goodbyes and of life’s endless beauty.
