A fairly wet early fall in late October 2013, followed by a spell of dryless days, and almost two weeks of unremitting fog, provided the perfect environment with which the hallucination-inducing mushroom known as fly agaric (amanita muscaria) proliferated on golf courses and in wildlife habitats.
