FDA requires all cartons of shell eggs that have not been treated to destroy Salmonella to carry this safe handling statement:: SAFE HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS: To prevent illness from bacteria: Keep eggs refrigerated, cook eggs until yolks are firm, and cook foods containing eggs thoroughly. (Eggs that have been treated to destroy Salmonella–i.e.,by in-shell pasteurisation, are not required to carry safe handling instructions, but the labelling will usually say that they have been treated.) Stamping is much easier if you use a small block of wood or something similar under the lid to support the carton when stamping. Stamp size is 1” x 1” , 2” x 2” or 2.25" x 2.25"
