A pattern inspired byNative American designs.
I am thinking about old times when totally independent cultures could meet. If the survival of one depended say on a particular animal, horse or salmon, then their mythology would develop around profound knowledge of those, their habits and anatomy. Resulting stories could be very deep and insightful but people from another culture wouldn't be able to comprehend. And could easily dismiss others as savages.
The solution is to read, to listen, to talk, to visit in person. To expose ourselves to greatest variety of human worldviews and cultures. To avoid wars, displacements and genocides.
