Federation Square, Melbourne, Australia Card

Melbourne holds a special place in my heart. Federation Square was just completed a year prior to my visit in 2003, and it was a site of pilgrimage for me, a budding architect. I knew all about the complex, including its designer, Lab Architecture Studio. While I was sketching, a man stopped by to have a look (which is pretty common), but then he asked me - "did you know the entire façade is made up of a series of right triangles?" He then grabbed the pencil out of my hands, and proceeded to draw right next to my sketch - a right triangle with smaller right triangles within it. "Wow, I see it now... how did you know that?" I asked. "I designed it", he answered. Stunned, I said to him, "You're David Peterson?!?" "Peter Davidson", he replied. I apologized for the mix-up and we chatted for a while about the building and architecture, and he invited me to visit his studio the next day. I was unfortunately flying out early in the morning and couldn't, but we exchanged information and stayed in touch. I loved the city already, and now I was thinking this was a sign I should move here! Ultimately it didn't happen, but I was seriously considering it! Such a crazy coincidence to run into him while sketching his building! (Note the mini triangle pattern sketch at the bottom of my sketch).
