Female Artists T-Shirt

Edmonia Lewis. Hazel Dooney. Ashley Longshore. All three women are my mentors and "art-momma's". This is my way of sharing their work and legacy with the world. Mary Edmonia Lewis was an American sculptor who worked for most of her career in Rome, Italy. She was the first woman of African-American and Native American heritage to achieve international fame and recognition as a sculptor in the fine arts world. Her work is known for incorporating themes relating to black people and indigenous peoples of the Americas into Neoclassical-style sculpture. Hazel Dooney a woman who managed to gain recognition in the contemporary art world despite being both a female and a person under the age of 30. Her works are a hybrid of painting, collage, photography, video and sculpture techniques. Ashley Longshore is a Louisiana-based painter, gallery owner, and entrepreneur. She is the owner of the Longshore Studio Gallery. Longshore's art focuses on pop culture, Hollywood glamour, and American consumerism and has been recognised as a "modern Andrea Warhol" by the New York Post and was on Brit + Co’s list of "16 Female Artists You Should Know." She has worked with celebrity art collectors including Blake Lively, Salma Hayek, and Penelope Cruz. ARTacrobat is in part...a product of the female artists that "raised" her/mentioned above.
